Bowens commits to the Florida Gators

The Florida Gators picked up their second commitment of the Class of 2024 on Sunday morning following Saturday’s win over USF.

2024 running back Chauncey Bowens (5-11, 215, North Palm Beach, FL. The Benjamin School) committed to the Gators after visiting Gainesville on Saturday.

“I would like to thank Coach Napier for this opportunity with that being said I will be committing to the University of Florida,” Bowens tweeted. “#2THESW4MP.”

Bowens was on campus for the third time this year on Saturday and met with running backs coach Jabbar Juluke and several other staff members during the visit.

The 2024 running back is one of the top guys at his position for next year and already has several other SEC offers including one from Auburn.

As a sophomore, Bowens ran for 1,368 yards and 15 touchdowns and that was good enough to earn him the Palm Beach 5A-1A offensive player of the year honors.

Bowens who also plays lacrosse and runs track in high school reports a 100 meter time of 10.89 seconds.

Florida now has two commits in the 2024 class as Bowens joins linebacker Myles Graham who committed to Florida in August.
