Bowen has high interest in the Florida Gators following his UF offer

The Florida Gators have been very active in the state of Texas since Dan Mullen arrived in Gainesville and recently, they offered another prospect from the state.

2023 defensive back Peyton Bowen (6-1, 185, Denton, TX. Guyer) picked up an offer from Florida in September after he talked to a Gators’ assistant coach.

“Coach [Wesley] McGriff offered me,” Bowen said on the coach from Florida who offered him last month. “He said that he loved the way I played and how I flew to the ball with my coverage skills and how I help my team out in different aspects of the game.”

Bowen has 22 offers already but he says picking up an offer from the Gators is a big one to him.

“I was very happy,” he said on his reaction to the offer. “Florida is an all-time powerhouse of a college and in the best conference.”

When defensive backs coach Wesley McGriff spoke with Bowen earlier this fall, he explained to the 2023 prospect where he could fit into the Gators’ defense if he picks Florida.

“He said I can play either corner or safety sense I’m versatile,” Bowen said on where McGriff sees him playing. “He likes that I can hit and cover in man or zone and I have the speed to stay up with receivers.”

The Gators have Bowen’s attention early on as the Texas native likes several things about the Gators and their history.

“I have high interest in Florida,” he said on his interest in Florida. “They’re an SEC team playing in a great conference and they’re a good team in general. They put players in the league every year.”
