Boireau rates his Florida Gators visit a perfect “10”

The Florida Gators got a big win over the Vanderbilt Commodores on Saturday afternoon in the Swamp and while the visitors list wasn’t huge, they still had some big names on campus.

Defensive lineman Michai Boireau (6-5, 390, Hampton, GA. Creekside) was on campus for the first time since he decommitted from the Gators and he enjoyed his time back in Gainesville.

“It was great,” Boireau said on his visit to Florida on Saturday. “The energy was great; the atmosphere was great. When they first came out for kickoff, that feeling was amazing, it kind of felt like butterflies, and the feeling was all over. I would rate it a 10, the atmosphere was great, and it was great talking to the staff again.”

Boireau wasn’t sure how the visit was going to go on Saturday, but he says the visit turned out great and was like visits he had taken in the past to Florida.

“Coming back, I thought it was kind of going to be awkward, but it wasn’t awkward at all,” he said on coming back to Gainesville. “It was actually like I never left. Everybody was excited to see me, and I was excited to see them. Everything felt like I just never left.”

After Boireau decommitted from Florida last month, the Gators have continued to recruit the defensive lineman and the message has stayed the same.

“Unlike other schools their message like from schools when I committed and then decommitted, it has been that they still love me and they aren’t going anywhere in this recruiting process,” Boireau said on the message from Florida. “They say I always have a home here. It’s always love.”

Despite once being a commit to Florida, Boireau had never attended a home game at the Swamp and the defensive lineman wanted to feel the energy inside the stadium.

“That was actually my first home game at Florida,” he said on what made him want to come back to Florida. “I want to feel the atmosphere because I haven’t felt the atmosphere even when I did commit. It was just that, I felt like me decommitting. Florida is still in the process in my recruitment and they’re still a school I’m interested in.”

Now that Boireau is uncommitted, he says he’s taking things slow and trying to figure out his recruitment.

“The process is still at the beginning stages,” Boireau said of where he’s in his recruitment. “Still seeing things that I haven’t seen, still have a lot to see. Things are still kind of undetermined.”

Boireau is in the process of setting up official visits and he says four schools are in the mix in his recruitment right now.

“Right now, it’s only about four schools,” he said on the teams in his recruitment. “Florida, Georgia, Michigan, and Auburn. I might soon have an official visit set to Michigan. I’m planning to come back here for the Florida State game, and I plan to be at the Florida/Georgia game.”
