Bell retained as quality control coach for running backs

Billy Napier has retained Corey Bell as part of his staff. Bell will serve as a quality control coach who will work with the running backs.

Bell was the director of player personnel for the Gators in 2021, which made him one of the top members of the recruiting staff.

He also coached UF’s secondary in 2017 under Jim McElwain.

In between his two stops in Gainesville, he was UCF’s cornerbacks coach for three years.

He also worked at Florida Atlantic as defensive backs coach and director of player personnel from 2014-16. He was the director of football operations at Miami from 2007-10.

The Miami native was also a successful high school head coach in South Florida, which makes him an effective recruiter in that recruiting hotbed.

He led American Senior High School to three consecutive district championships from 2011-13 after the school hadn’t won a district title in 13 years. He also produced 84 Division 1 signees, six All-Americans and five playoff appearances as the head coach at Edison High School from 1997-2007.

Bell played cornerback at South Carolina and was a two-year starter. He graduated in 1995.
