Ausberry breaks down his recent Florida Gators’ offer

Over the last few weeks, the Florida Gators coaching staff has offered several prospects from the state of Louisiana in several different classes.

2023 linebacker Jaiden Ausberry (6-2, 205, Baton Rouge, LA. University Lab)

“I called Kelvin Bolden and then Coach [Christian] Robinson officially offered,” Ausberry said. “I talked to Chase Clark too when they offered.”

Ausberry hasn’t had much contact with Florida until last week when he spoke with the Gators and received the offer.

“It means a lot to me,” he said of the offer. “I was very shocked, happy, and grateful to receive the offer from Florida.”

Linebackers coach Christian Robinson didn’t get into much detail about how Ausberry will be used in Gainesville but he did explain what the Gators like about his game.

“I’m thinking most likely linebacker,” Ausberry said on where Florida wants him to play. “They said that they like how I fly around the ball and how I play. They want to get me down there for a visit once the dead period is over.”

Ausberry doesn’t know a whole lot about the Gators program but he does know a lot about the defense the Gators have had in the past.

“I know that their defense has always been strong and produces a lot of NFL draft picks,” he said on what he knows about the defense. “I like their mentality and how they fly to the ball and have that swagger.”

After picking up the offer Ausberry says he wants to get down to Gainesville for a visit and he says his interest is high.

“It’s high, they’ve always been in my top 5-10 schools that I want to attend,” Ausberry said of his interest in Florida. “I’ve heard that the culture is really good over there and the people are welcoming. Their football program is very good.”
