Auburn WR Eric Singleton Jr. commits to Florida

The Gators landed one of the top players in the transfer portal when Auburn wide receiver Eric Singleton Jr. committed and signed to Florida on Saturday evening, Gator Country confirms. Singleton Jr. ranks as the 28th overall player in the portal and the 8th wide receiver.

Singleton Jr. initially declared for the NFL Draft before opting to enter the NCAA Transfer Portal on Friday, January 9th. The Gators immediately emerged as the favorite to land the talented receiver due to his strong ties to Florida’s coaching staff.

The 5-foot-10, 185-pound receiver played at Georgia Tech from 2023–24 under Florida’s newly hired offensive coordinator Buster Faulkner. During the 2024 season, Singleton Jr. was coached by Trent McKnight, who was recently brought to Florida as the Gators’ passing game coordinator and inside receivers coach.

After transferring to Auburn for the 2025 season as the top ranked portal receiver, Singleton Jr. was coached by Marcus Davis, who was recently hired as Florida’s outside wide receivers coach.

Singleton Jr. has combined for 2,005 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns through three seasons at the collegiate level.

In 2023, Singleton Jr. earned First-Team Freshman All-America honors by five different publications after posting 48 receptions for 714 yards and six touchdowns. The Douglasville, Georgia native finished second in voting for ACC Offensive Rookie of the Year and third in balloting for the conference’s overall Rookie of the Year. Singleton Jr. ranked fourth among all freshmen nationally (true or redshirt) with 59.5 receiving yards per game and tied for fourth among all freshman nationally with six touchdown receptions.

As a sophomore, Singleton Jr. recorded 56 receptions for a career-high 754 yards and three touchdowns. The explosive wide receiver also contributed on the ground, adding 21 rushing attempts for 131 yards and a touchdown. In addition, Singleton Jr. served as a kickoff returner, totaling 241 yards on 11 returns, including a long of 40 yards. He was also a teammate of Florida quarterback Aaron Philo, who appeared in five games for the Yellow Jackets during the 2024 season.

With the Auburn Tigers in 2025, Singleton Jr. hauled in a career high and team high 58 receptions for 534 yards and three touchdowns. Singleton Jr.’s 58 receptions ranked tied for eighth in the SEC.

Singleton Jr. has a catch in every game of his collegiate career (36), which is the sixth longest active streak in FBS.

Singleton Jr. joins a wide receiver room that consists of Dallas Wilson, Vernell Brown III, Micah Mays, Bailey Stockton, TJ Abrams, Davian Groce, Justin Williams, and Marquez Daniel.

Now at nine scholarship receivers, the Gators could still be looking to add another receiver to the roster before spring football starts.
