Antwi surprised to pick up a Florida Gators offer last week

Over the last few weeks, the Florida Gators coaching staff has been busy offering underclassmen prospects since the contact period opened on September 1st.

2022 receiver Kojo Antwi (6-1, 185, Suwanee, GA. Lambert) was one of those guys offered and he heard from his potential position coach.

“Coach [Billy] Gonzales offered me,” Antwi said on the coach who offered him last week. “He said I’m a special player and he wants me to be apart of the Gators when it’s time.”

Antwi has 25 offers already and he was glad to pick up an offer from the Gators because he likes a few things about the program.

“It means a lot to me,” he said on what the offer means to him. “Florida is a great school with great fans and more. I was really surprised.”

Receivers coach Billy Gonzales explained to Antwi just how he would fit into the offense if he comes to Florida for college.

“He said I’m a great fit academically and athletic wise for Florida,” Antwi said on what Gonzales told him. “He said I’m a really good player and I would fit in the offense perfect. I would be playing more slot than outside because I’m an explosive player and I can make big plays.”

Antwi already knows a few things about the Florida program and he likes how the receiver position has produced several big-time players in the past.

“They like to spread the ball a lot, they had four receivers last year with 30 plus receptions,” he said on what he knows about Florida. “They have won three national championships and multiple players from the Gators are selected in the draft every year.”

Next up for Antwi will be visits to schools and he would like to get to Gainesville when he’s able to.

“I’m really interested in Florida, I think when this dead period is over, I’ll visit Florida for sure,” Antwi said on of his recruitment. “Georgia, Clemson, Oregon, South Carolina, Virginia Tech, Texas, and Auburn are also recruiting me hard.”
