Allen down to Florida and TCU after visiting Gainesville

The Florida Gators hosted six official visitors on campus this weekend including several offensive playmakers.

Receiver DJ Allen (5-11, 190, Gladewater, TX. High) was on campus and enjoyed the family vibe he received from the staff.

“It was pretty nice out here,” Allen said on his Florida visit and highlight. “Getting around the players and seeing how they’re all like family around here. Just seeing the coaches.”

A fellow receiver hosted Allen during his official visit and had a message for the Texas native.

“Jay [Fraziars] was,” he said on who his player host was. “He just said go wherever you feel happy and to just go with your gut.”

Receiver’s coach Keary Colbert and head coach Billy Napier explained to Allen during the visit just how they would use him on offense and what the offense could look like.

“They said I would be a big factor,” Allen said on the message from the coaching staff. “They need some players that can make some plays after the catch. They’re going to try and open up the offense some.”

This was the first time for Allen to spend a long period of time with Colbert and Napier and the received liked the connection they built.

“It was cool, we got to build a bond together,” he said on hanging out with Keary Colbert. “We got to see how we like each other. I like Coach Napier too, he’s a cool dude.”

Allen was once committed to TCU but didn’t sign early after their coaching change and he says Florida has something in common with TCU.

“TCU and Florida are both my dream schools,” he said on what he likes about Florida and TCU.

The receiver will now travel back home and talk to his family but Allen says this is a two-team race for his signature.

“Pretty much just Florida and TCU,” Allen said on who’s in the running for him and when he will decide. “I will probably make it on Tuesday. Me and my dad are just going to talk about it and see how he liked it and what’s best for the family, and who we can trust the most.”
