Alford feels like a fit for the Florida Gators offense

Two Saturday’s ago; the Florida Gators hosted dozens of prospects on campus for the annual Orange and Blue spring game.

2021 receiver Damien Alford (6-5, 205, Hollywood, FL. McArthur) was on campus and he liked the atmosphere in the Swamp for the spring game.

“I like the way their offense is,” Alford said on what he likes about Florida. “They were a lot of people that came for the spring game. It’s something that I haven’t seen before and it gets the adrenaline pumping.”

While on campus, Alford got to talk to several of Florida’s coaches but two coaches in particular had a message for him.

“I got to talk to the receivers coach [Billy Gonzales] and Coach [Dan] Mullen,” he said of the coaches he talked to during his visit. “They said that they liked my size and they liked my highlight tape and they seen I was explosive.”

Alford watched the Gators offense closely on Saturday and he feels like the Florida offense is one that would fit his game well.

“I see that they’re passing team and that’s always a plus,” Alford said of Florida’s offense. “The offense is a real structured offense and I feel like I will perfectly if I come to school here. I was watching Trevon Grimes mostly during the game.”

The 2021 receiver has already visited the Gators twice and Alford says another trip is possible in the coming months.

“I’m not sure yet, but as soon as I get a call to visit then I’ll visit,” he said of future visits. “I might come back here for a summer camp.”
