Alexander breaks down last week’s Florida Gators offer

Last week, the Florida Gators offered several prospects in the state of Mississippi in the Class of 2023.

2023 offensive lineman Isaiah Alexander (6-7, 350, Tupelo, MS. High) was one of those guys to pick up an offer after he talked to a Gators coach.

“Coach John Hevesy did,” Alexander said to the coach who offered him. “He said he really wants me to play for Florida. It was really a shocking moment everything happening so fast and I’m only a sophomore.”

Alexander now has three offers and he credits his coach for the work they’ve put in together as to why he’s picking up big offers.

“It means a lot, it’s a D1 school, and to show interest in me and want to offer me means the world to me,” he said on what the offer means to him. “My coach was very proud that I put in a lot of work this offseason and the summer is very critical to my growth for my junior season.”

Offensive line coach John Hevesy explained to Alexander just why the Gators like his game as a rising junior.

“He said he liked my hips and the way I moved to be as big as I am,” Alexander said on the message from Hevesy. “I have never played guard one day in football so I would love to stick to tackle.”

Alexander has never visited Gainesville but the offensive lineman does know a few things about the campus and the Gators’ program.

“I like Florida a lot,” he said on his in Florida. “You know Florida is a beautiful school and awesome fan base. I really don’t know much about them but I haven’t really dug into them yet.”

INSIDERS TAKE: Alexander says he plans to visit Florida but isn’t sure of when that will visit take place.
