LB Alex Anzalone commits to Florida

Will Muschamp has become one of the better recruiters in the country over the last two years but the one that sets him apart from others is his persistence.

When recruits commit to other schools some coaches quit recruiting those guys but not Will Muschamp he continues to recruit those players and let them know they are wanted at Florida.

That method paid off as Wyomissing (Pa.) Area linebacker Alex Anzalone has de-committed from Notre Dame and committed to Florida.

Anzalone confirmed this to GatorCountry.com

The 6-foot-3, 229-pound Anzalone has flirted with Florida in the past after he de-committed from Ohio State and before committing to Notre Dame but decided to stay close to home.

Anzalone is expected to come to Florida to play linebacker but he could also see time on the offensive side of the ball at the h-back position as Anzalone played some running back in high school.

The Under Armour All-American is set to enroll at Florida on Friday and is the second commit that Will Muschamp has flipped in the past seven days as Demarcus Robinson flipped from Clemson to Florida and enrolled early on Tuesday.

During his junior season Anzalone rushed for that 1,500 yards and had 30 touchdowns while also recording a 100 tackles and was named the Class 2A Defensive Player of the Year by Pennsylvania Football News.

Anzalone is the 27th commitment for the Class of 2013 and will be the 8th member to enroll early joining Daniel McMillian, Tyler Moore, Darious Cummings, Kelvin Taylor, Joey Ivie, Matt Rolin and Demarcus Robinson.
