Addison calls his Florida Gators’ offer a “blessing”

Over the last few weeks, the Florida Gators coaching staff has been busy extending offers to 2025 prospects including several in-state prospects.

2025 offensive line Ziyare Addison (6-5, 270, Riverview, FL. Sumner High) was one of those guys who picked up an offer from Florida after he talked to one of the Gators’ assistant coaches.

“It was Coach [Darnell] Stapleton that extended the offer,” Addison said. “He was just explaining that he likes how I have improved because my freshman year I played defensive line and just moved to the offensive side of the ball. He said he liked how I wrestle and ran the 100 meters this spring.”

Addison has double-digit offers already but he admits that getting an offer from Florida means a little more.

“It was a blessing,” he said on what the offer means to him. “I kind of knew it was coming but it’s a blessing to get an offer from any school but getting one from one my hometown schools is special. It makes it a little more special.”

Head coach Billy Napier met Addison for the first time in the spring when the lineman was in town and the two spoke about what the Gators like about him.

“I got to meet Coach Napier when I was up there for a spring practice,” Addison said. “He pulled me to the side and was just telling me that he needed to see a little more from me but now he says he has seen it and they offered me.”

Napier and the rest of the coaching staff impressed Addison during that visit with the way they ran practice and the program in general.

“They have the program going in the right direction,” he said on what he thought of the coaches during the visit. “I liked the drills they ran and how they got after it and were teaching techniques.”

Addison isn’t ready to name any top teams or anything like that, but he does know that the Gators have his attention, and several other programs are keeping in touch with him a lot.

“I’m not going to narrow down my list anytime soon, but Florida is up there,” Addison said. “Miami, Florida State, Oregon, Oklahoma, and a lot of other schools are doing a good job of calling me and keeping in touch.”
