Adams says he “really likes” the Florida Gators after Monday’s camp

The Florida Gators are in the middle of a busy month of recruiting, and they started football camps on Monday and hosted a few prospects for camp.

Offensive lineman Tyree Adams (6-5, 285, New Orleans, LA. St. Augustine) was on campus and got to work with the staff and visit with them.

“It went really good, I loved it,” Adams said of his visit to Florida on Monday. “I camped with them and then visited the campus and coaches. We took pictures, toured the facilities, and talked with the coaches.”

This was the first time for Adams to work with offensive line coaches Rob Sale and Darnell Stapleton and he liked their coaching style.

“It was really good,” he said on working with the coaching staff during camp. “I like what they’re talking about, they’re two really good offensive line coaches. They’re very intense, they’re detailed oriented, very technical and they want the best from their guys.”

Sale and Stapleton also explained to Adams during the visit just how he would fit into Florida’s offense and how soon he could potentially see the field.

“Just me coming in and possibly playing as a freshman,” Adams said on the message from the staff. “Playing that tackle position and getting the job done for them. I’m trying to get as much playing time as possible.”

Head coach Billy Napier also spoke with Adams at length on Monday and explained to him that despite moving from Louisiana to Florida that he still has a lot of love for the state of Louisiana.

“Coach Napier says he really loves me,” he said on the message from Napier. “He loves us Louisiana cats and he’s great. He has a lot of energy; he has a young staff, and they have a bright future. He’s going to be there a long time.”

After the visit, Adams says the Gators are one of the teams sitting in a good spot for him as he continues to talk with the staff.

“I really like Florida, they stand high in my recruitment,” Adams said on his interest in Florida. “I’m just trying to build that relationship with them.”

Next up for Adams will be his official visits and he could possibly be in Gainesville for the LSU game next October.

“I’m taking official visits next,” he said on what’s next for him in his recruitment. “LSU, Georgia, Ole Miss, Florida, and Alabama will get one in the fall.”
