Aaron Gates commits to the Florida Gators

The Gators’ 2023 recruiting class is now up to three players. 2023 defensive back Aaron Gates, out of Trinity Christian School in Sharpsburg, Georgia, pledged to Florida on Thursday afternoon.

Gates’ recruitment has blown up recently, with Florida, Michigan and Miami offering him since June.

Gates, 6-foot-1 and 180 pounds, isn’t ranked on any of the three major recruiting services, but the Gators thought highly enough of him to let him join Mac Markway and Raymond Cottrell in the 2023 class.

He caught 27 passes for 434 yards and three touchdowns last season and added 31 tackles and five interceptions on defense. He is expected to play defensive back in college.
