#7 Florida Gators volleyball takes on #1 Stanford on Wednesday

Special report on the Florida Gators volleyball team:

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The No. 7 Florida volleyball team is set to host defending national champions and current top-ranked Stanford at Exactech Arena on Wednesday night.

 

First serve is slated for 8 p.m. on the SEC Network, with Courtney Lyle and Holly McPeak on the call.

 

In home openers, the Gators hold a 30-5 record overall since 1984.

 

Both Florida and Stanford are coming off 2-0 weekends, with the Gators defeating No. 25 Louisville and Dayton. Stanford topped both College of Charleston and Duke to start the season unblemished.

 

The last time these two teams faced off was one for the ages, with Florida winning the five-setter to send the squad to the 2017 National Championship match.

 

Rachael Kramer recorded eight kills in the match, leading all returners, while Mia Sokolowski added five. Those two also combined for eight blocks, with Kramer posting a team-leading five.
