Head coach Jon Sumrall and the Florida Gators hosted several top prospects this past weekend during Florida’s massive 52-28 win over the Ole Miss Rebels at home. 2028 four-star edge Tristian Henderson was in attendance and was blown away by the atmosphere.
“Just a crazy atmosphere and the stadium was insane. It was a great game too,” Henderson said. “Watching Jadan Baugh just run through the whole defense, that was crazy.”
The Florida native got to experience his first game in the Swamp, which left a lasting impression on the highly-rated edge rusher.
“This was my first time going to a Florida game, so it showed me what the atmosphere would be like playing in a game here,” Henderson said.
Henderson made it clear that this isn’t the same team he watched last season. The physicality between both teams is vastly different.
“They looked great, especially compared to last year. Watching them this year, you can definitely tell the difference,” Henderson said on the improvement.
The biggest takeaway that Henderson left with was how Jon Sumrall continues to keep his word on what the future of Florida football will look like. This team has continued to improve on both sides of the football through four weeks.
“He stood on what he said and that they are going to keep getting better,” Henderson said on his biggest takeaway. “Ole Miss is a good team, I watched them last week, and I was definitely surprised at the score.”
After surprising the 6-4, 225-pound edge rusher, the Gators are looking to be a big contender.
“They definitely went up to my Top 8. I like Florida a lot,” Henderson said.
Other schools that look to be in the running for the 2028 prospect are Nebraska, Georgia Tech, LSU, Tennessee, Notre Dame, Miami and Florida State.
