2027 QB Haven liked the atmosphere during Saturday’s win over Texas

On Saturday, the Florida Gators hosted an impressive number of underclassmen in the Swamp, including one of the top quarterbacks for next year.

2027 quarterback Elijah Haven (6-5, 215, Baton Rouge, LA. Dunham School) was on campus and was glad to see the Gators come out on top.

“It was great, great atmosphere and DJ played good so that was good to see,” Haven said of his visit to Florida on Saturday. “It was good to see the Gators get a win, especially after what they went through this first part of the season to beat a team like Texas.”

Haven watched quarterback DJ Lagway closely on Saturday, he was impressed with his confidence during the game.

“He managed the ball really well, and he’s able to get the ball to his wide receivers in space and let them go do their thing,” he said on Lagway’s play. “The confidence, you can see it in him, the way he played, just nickle and diming them everywhere throughout the field, and it was just good to see.”

Heading into the visit, Haven had the Gators high in his recruitment and he says that didn’t change after Saturday.

“Florida is still super high for me and my family,” Haven said of where Florida stands for him. “I’m still super high on them. I’m looking forward to building a relationship with the coaches.”

Haven has dozens of offers already and he says he’s trying to narrow things down as he figures out which schools he likes.

“I think so, I’m definitely starting to narrow it down as you know what schools you know are above others and things like that,” he said on his process. “There’s definitely a clear fix that I’m still narrowing things down. I’m not in a rush, I can’t really give you a specific date, I can just say I’m not in a rush.”

The 2027 quarterback says that the Gators are going to be one of those teams that makes his cut as he plans more visits this fall.

“I think Florida is definitely one of those schools,” Haven said of Florida sticking in his recruitment long term. “They’ve just kind of been with me since day one, one of the first schools. There are obvious schools, LSU you know being a hometown school, they’re always running the neighborhood. I’m going to visit Bama on the 18th and then Georgia. We might go to LSU and Alabama.”
