The Florida Gators have had a great run with some good receivers the last few years under Dan Mullen and the coaching staff is looking to replace those talented guys.
One guy that the coaching staff is recruiting hard is 2022 receiver Kojo Antwi (6-1, 185, Suwanee, GA. Lambert) who says he talks to the coaching staff on a regular basis.
“I’ve been talking to Coach [Billy] Gonzales,” Antwi said of the coach he talks to from Florida. “We’ve been texting almost everyday and he wants me to be a Gator and that means a lot.”
Receivers coach Billy Gonzales has told Antwi that the Gators need someone with his ability in Gainesville and has explained to him how he would be used in the offense.
“He said I would be playing inside and outside in receive on offense,” he said on where Gonzales sees him playing. “He said they could really use my explosiveness and playmaking ability at receiver.”
Last week, Antwi named a top 8 and the Gators made the cut and he explained that a few reasons including Florida’s offense was a big reason why the Gators made the cut.
“They have great academics, great area and environment and it’s great place to play football,” Antwi said on why Florida made his top schools. “I like how they gave their plamakers the ball and how they get their receivers going. That [Kyle] Trask to [Kyle] Pitts connection was dangerous.”
Florida, Georgia, Ohio State, Alabama, South Carolina, USC, Oregon and Texas A&M made the cut but he says a few schools are recruiting him harder than others.
“I think Georgia and Ohio State are recruiting me really hard,” he said on if he any school was recruiting him harder than others. “I would like to make a decision in November or December.”
