Chaz Green became the third Florida Gators player selected in the 2015 NFL Draft when the Dallas Cowboys took him with the 91st overall pick in the third round. Green joins eight-year veteran Jeremy Mincey as the only Florida Gators on the Dallas roster.
A heralded four-star recruit from Tampa Catholic High School, Green came to Florida and made an impact. After a redshirt season, Green was named a 2011 Freshman All-American and was named to the SEC All-Freshman team. Green, however, missed time as a redshirt freshman due to injury and this became a theme during his career.
He started 10 games as a redshirt sophomore — making 10 starts — but missed two games due to injury. Green was slated to be the starting right tackle in 2013 but missed the entire season due to a shoulder injury he sustained in fall camp.
Green returned in 2014 and started 11 games for the Gators, nine at right tackle and two at left tackle. Green showed his versatility, filling in for an injured D.J. Humphries at left tackle when Humphries missed time with his own injury. Green was voted as a team captain his final season in Gainesville.
