The Florida men’s tennis team dominated Auburn during a 7-0 sweep at Linder Stadium at the Alfred A. Ring Tennis Complex on Friday, March 30, 2012.

The win helped the then-No. 11 Gators improve to 11-7 overall and 4-3 in Southeastern Conference play with the victory. Highlighst of the meet included a close battle in the No. 1 doubles match with Florida’s Bob van Overbeek and Spencer Newman defeating Auburn’s Dennis Lengsfeld and Lucas Lopasso 8-4. The final two matches of the day each lasted more than two hours with Michael Alford beating Lopasso 7-6 (10), 6-2 in the No. 5 singles match while UF’s Andrew Butz needed three sets to down Michael Wardell 2-6, 6-1, 7-5.
