South Carolina game at night in Swamp

Florida’s possible showdown with South Carolina for the Southeastern Conference East Division crown on Nov. 13 will be a night game in The Swamp.

The SEC office announced Monday that the Gators and Gamecocks game will kick off at 7:15 p.m. ET and either be shown on ESPN or ESPN2. The Gators, of course, must beat Vanderbilt this Saturday to have a shot at the SEC East crown. If they do, then the winner of South Carolina-Florida advances to the SEC Championship Game against the West Division winner on Dec. 5 in Atlanta’s Georgia Dome.

CBS, which has first choice of the game and is televising a doubleheader on Nov. 13, picked Georgia at Auburn for the 3:30 p.m. game following Mississippi at Tennessee, which kicks off at noon. The other television outlets for SEC games on Nov. 13 are: SEC Network (12:21 p.m.), Vanderbilt at Kentucky; ESPNU (7 p.m.), UTEP at Arkansas; pay-per-view (7 p.m.), Louisiana-Monroe at Louisiana State; and ESPN or ESPN2 (7:15 p.m.) Mississippi State at Alabama.

On Sunday, Florida announced that its Nov. 20 game with Appalachian State would be a pay-per-view game that will have a 12:30 p.m. kickoff. The game will be available through cable companies carrying Florida’s Sun Sports broadcast.

The Gators’ game this Saturday, Nov. 6 at Vanderbilt has a 12:21 p.m. kickoff and will be carried on the SEC Network. The Florida-based affiliates carrying the game are: WXCW (Fort Myers/Naples); WOGX (Gainesville); WJXT (Jacksonville); WSFL (Miami/Fort Lauderdale); WOFL (Orlando/Daytona Beach/Melbourne); WJHG-DT2 (Panama City); WCTV (Tallahassee); WTTA (Tampa/St. Petersburg/Sarasota/North Port); WFLX (West Palm Beach/Fort Pierce).

This leaves Florida’s game at Florida State on Nov. 27 as the only game without a kickoff time locked in. Since the game is at Florida State, it can be carried on ABC in either the 3:30 p.m. or 8 p.m. slot or could revert to an ESPN slot at noon or in the evening.
