We’re already into the conference portion of the college football season, and the rankings are beginning to take more shape.
We’ve gathered a handful of our esteemed Gator Country members and asked them to pick their own Top 25, so we can put together our very own Top 25 poll!
We continue the season with 35 pollsters taking part, and today we debut our Week 3 poll!
Not surprisingly, all eyes were on Tallahassee last week as the No. 5 Florida State Seminoles took on the No. 1 Oklahoma Sooners. Oklahoma pulled out the win, and our pro-Florida voters decked the Seminoles in the rankings this week.
FSU was the biggest mover, falling all the way from No. 8 to No. 15, despite playing the nation’s top-ranked team in a close game. Such is life when your rivals are voting on where you should be ranked.
The top four spots in this week’s rankings remained unchanged, with LSU, Alabama and Boise State right behind Oklahoma. Wisconsin and Boise State flipped spots at No. 5 and No. 6 after Boise State struggled some early on the road against Toledo.
Oklahoma State moved up a couple spots from No. 10 to No. 7, ahead of Texas A&M and Nebraska. Despite struggling against Navy, South Carolina moved up one spot to No. 10 to round out this week’s Top 10.
Oregon jumped Arkansas, while Florida jumped Virginia Tech to move up to No. 13 in this week’s rankings. While the SEC had five teams in the Top 13, the league did not have another team in the Top 25 behind Florida, as Auburn dropped out of the rankings following its loss to Clemson.
Ohio State and Arizona State also dropped out of this week’s rankings after losses to Miami and Illinois, respectively.
The new teams entered the poll this week, with Clemson jumping in at No. 20, Georgia Tech at No. 23 and USC at No. 24.
