Florida announces kick off times for FAU, UAB

Football season is right around the corner as the 2011 SEC Media Days get underway, and Florida has officially announced the kickoff times for its first two games.

Unlike the past few years, Gators fans won’t be subjected to watching their favorite team in blistering 100-degree heat in early September.

Kick off for the first two games is set for 7 p.m. ET, so fans can break out the tailgating equipment and kick off the Will Muschamp era in style.

Florida’s season opener against Florida Atlantic on Sept. 3 will be televised on ESPNU, while the Gators game against UAB on Sept. 10 will be televised on FSN.

Florida hasn’t opened the season with back-to-back night games since 2006, when the Gators took on Southern Miss and Central Florida.

Health has been a concern for Gators fans with early kickoff times the past few years, as fans endured brutal games last year with little cloud cover.

With two 7 p.m. games, that shouldn’t be an issue this year.

Other game times that have already been set for Florida are Tennessee (Sept. 17 at 3:30 p.m. on CBS) and Georgia (Oct. 29 at 3:30 p.m. on CBS).
