According to USA Today’s annual database, the Florida Gators athletic program made $141 million dollars, eighth best in the country. Florida trailed Texas A&M, Texas, Ohio State, Alabama, Michigan, Oklahoma and LSU.

The Gators made, according to the database, $141,441,109 in the 2015-16 year, while spending just $121,307,116. The $20.1 million dollar surplus was second best in the SEC, trailing only Texas A&M ($57.2 million). The $20.1 million dollar surplus ranked third national.

The UAA recently approved a $128.2 million dollar budget for the 2017-18 school year, the highest in the history of the school.

A South Florida native, Nick developed a passion for all things sports at a very young age. His love for baseball was solidified when he saw Al Leiter’s no-hitter for the Marlins live in May of 1996. He was able to play baseball in college but quickly realized there isn’t much of a market for short, slow outfielders that hit around the Mendoza line. Wanting to continue with sports in some capacity he studied journalism at the University of Central Florida.
