The University of Florida announced Sunday that two Florida Gators football players are transferring.

As GatorCountry.com reported Saturday night, quarterback Jacoby Brissett plans to transfer. The other is running back Chris Johnson, who was ejected from Wednesday’s 33-23 loss in the Sugar Bowl after a personal foul for throwing a quick jab at a Louisville player.

A total of 21 players have transferred in Will Muschamp’s two years as head coach., including eight of Muschamp’s 19 signees from his first signing class. This also means there are 29 scholarships available.

“Both Jacoby and Chris expressed an interest in transferring and getting a fresh start,” Muschamp said in a release. “We are very thankful for their contributions to the University of Florida and wish them the best of luck.”

TV cameras captured images of Johnson chewing on his mouthpiece on the sideline after his ejection. He blamed himself for the team’s loss after the game as Louisville scored on a 19-yard touchdown pass the following play.

Johnson played in 19 games in two seasons, seeing action at safety, running back and on special teams. The speedster excelled this season as a gunner on punt team opposite Loucheiz Purifoy. He had 19 career tackles and recovered a fumble against South Carolina. He also had five carries for 35 yards this season.
