D.J. Durkin touched on several key topics Wednesday when speaking with the media. Durkin spoke at length about this upcoming week’s game down in South Florida against the Miami Hurricanes.

  • Durkin credited Neiron Ball for playing a position he hadn’t played before on Saturday. He also said Ball played a good game against Toledo.
  • Ball’s injury was a scary event for the whole team, including the coaching staff.
  • Miami running back Duke Johnson is a guy that Florida must locate during the whole game on Saturday.
  • Durkin talked about how fast the Miami receivers are and how they need to control them.
  • Penalties and third down mistakes are two things that the Gators need to cleanup to improve the defense.
  • The players are excited to play this game simply because they know a lot of the guys on the other side of the ball according to Durkin.
