Friday Night Frenzy Recap week 13: Florida Gators recruiting

It’s that time of the year again where the Friday Night Lights are bright and prospects all across the country are trying to shine on the field to impress college coaches and win a state championship ring before heading to college.

Like the past years Gator Country is going to do a preview every Thursday for all of the Florida Gators recruiting commits and on Monday we will do a full recap including stats and notes from the past weeks games.

This year we are going to also to name a player of the week from the commits games.

High School Recap

PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Kadarius Toney- Toney had 269 yards passing and four touchdowns.

 

Quarterback Jake Allen (6-3, 200, Fort Lauderdale, FL. St. Thomas Aquinas)

Result: St. Thomas Aquinas defeated Palm Beach Lakes 35-0 on Friday night.

Game Stats: Allen was 9-16 passing for 77 yards.

Notes: Aquinas moves into round 2 of the playoffs.

 

Defensive back Elijah Blades (6-2, 170, Pasadena, CA. John Muir)

Result: Muir lost to Antelope Valley 41-0 on Friday.

Game Stats: N/A.

Notes: Muir ends its season with a 6-5 record.

 

Tight end Zech Byrd (6-6, 236, Millbrook, AL. Stanhope Elmore)

Result: Stanhope Elmore is finished with its season.

Notes: Stanhope Elmore is now 4-6 on the year.

 

Defensive end Zach Carter (6-4, 250, Tampa, FL. Hillsborough)

Result: Hillsborough lost to Lake Gibson 21-14 on Friday night.

Game Stats: Carter had a sack in the loss.

Notes: Hillsborough finishes its season 8-2.

Result: Jesuit defeated Gibbs 64-12 on Friday night.

Result: Blinn is finished with its season.

Tight end Kemore Gamble (6-4, 216, Miami, FL. Southridge)

Result: Southridge defeated Southwest 28-0 on Friday.

Game Stats: Gamble had a 2-yard rushing touchdown on Saturday.

Notes: Southridge moves into the second roud of the playoffs.

  

Receiver Daquon Green (6-1, 185, Tampa, FL. Tech)

Result: Tampa Bay Tech defeated St. Petersburg 48-45 in two overtimes.

Game Stats: Green had a touchdown in the win.

Notes: Tampa Bay Tech moves into the second round of the playoffs.

 

Defensive tackle Fred Hansard (6-3, 324, Princeton, N.J. Hun School)

Result: Hun finished its season with an 8-0 record.

Andrew always knew he wanted to be involved with sports in some capacity. He began by coaching high school football for six years before deciding to pursue a career in journalism. While coaching, he was a part of two state semifinal teams in the state of Alabama. Given his past coaching experience, he figured covering recruiting would be a perfect fit.
