Florida offers 2016 TE

Will Muschamp and his staff pride themselves on being ahead of the game when it comes to the recruiting circuit.

On Monday, Muschamp proved that again, as the Gators offered 2016 Buford (Ga.) High tight end Isaac Nauta.

“It was kind of crazy the way I found out,” Nauta said. “My high school coach was passing me in the hallway and he said, by the way, Florida offered you a scholarship. I hadn’t really talked to Florida before the offer, so it was surprising but a good offer.”

The 6-foot-4, 238-pound Nauta has ties to the state of Florida and grew up watching the Gators play during his childhood.

“I grew up and lived in Jacksonville for a long time,” Nauta said. “I used to go to the Florida/Florida State games a lot and I use to always watch those two teams on TV. I have a lot of respect for Florida and they have a great fan base that is passionate about the Gators. The Swamp is a crazy atmosphere and it would be a cool place to play, plus Florida is in the SEC, which is the best conference in college football.”

During Nauta’s eighth grade year, he and several other players took a trip to Florida and Nauta was able to see Florida’s facilities.

“I really liked everything there,” Nauta said. “It was a cool first experience. I loved the weight room and all of the equipment and how they can film you during your workout. I got to meet coach (Jeff) Dillman and you can tell that he likes to get after it in the weight room.”

For Nauta, he plans to visit Georgia, Tennessee, Clemson and Florida this spring and summer.
