Florida has work to do on Darling

Florida is looking to add another top offensive linemen for the Class of 2014 and one of their targets is right in the state.

Miami (Fla.) Central offensive lineman Trevor Darling has been committed to Miami for over a year now, but the Gators have someone in his ear.

“My teammate Dalvin Cook is in my ear about Florida all the time,” Darling said. “I listen to him because he’s my teammate. I’m solid to Miami but I’m listening to him and to the Florida coaching staff.”

The Florida’s coaches have been sending one message to the 6″5′, 330-pound Darling when the two parties talk.

“They are still talking to me a good bit,” Darling said. “They just tell me that they want me to come up and see the campus and meet everyone. I’ll probably go up with Dalvin to Friday Night Lights in July because he wants me to go with him.”

Darling’s main recruiter is cornerbacks coach Travaris Robinson, who has been telling the big lineman that the Gators need him.

For Florida, the task is going to be a very difficult one if they plan to switch Darling from Miami to Florida, but he says he is still listening.

“I don’t know what it would take for them to switch me,” Darling said. “It would take a lot, but I don’t think anyone could change that. I’m going to go up to Florida to visit and see what they have to offer.”
