Davis believes the Florida Gators message to him

The Florida Gators had several of its commits in the stands on Saturday night including defensive backs commit Shawn Davis (5-11, 190, Miami, FL. Southridge.

This was the first game this season for Davis and the first time he has been on campus since he committed but he says nothing has changed.

“It was good, it’s still the same as when I came before, they’re showing a lot of love,” Davis said of the visit. “I talk to all of the coaches but mainly Coach Randy Shannon and Coach [Torrian] Gray.”

Davis was impressed by the Gators crowd on Saturday night as he didn’t expect it for the North Texas game.

“It was real loud and there was a lot of people here,” he said of the atmosphere. “I didn’t expect that many people here for that little of a game.”

During the game Davis picked up on how little depth the Gators secondary has and that’s something the staff has been telling him.

“I liked the defense and the coaches are telling me the truth,” Davis said. “They needed some defensive backs to come in and play right away for them. I noticed that when watching them.”

Next up for Davis are some trips out west for official visits and maybe a few other visits.

“I will probably visit USC and Oregon State,” he said of other visits. “Probably out of state visits that are real far away for official visits.”

Davis also says he will be back in Gainesville for another couple of visits.

“I’ll be back to Florida for the LSU game,” Davis said. “Then I’ll be back up for an official visit for sure.”

INSIDERS TAKE: Davis is very solid to Florida and has a good relationship with the Gators coaching staff. It will be real tough for anyone to flip Davis because of those relationships, plus the immediate playing time available at Florida.
