On June 14th, 2012 Ryeshene Bronson became the first verbal commitment of Florida’s 2014 recruiting class. Almost a year later, Bronson rescinded his verbal, but is still in the school’s good graces.
“I was just opening up to see what was out there, I still have very high interest in the Gators. We’re still on good terms, I call coach [DJ] Durkin and talk to him every now and then,” Bronson said.
As he attended Friday Night Lights, Bronson couldn’t help but get caught up in the school he first fell in love with.
“It felt kinda good, made me feel like I was home again,” Bronson said.
Bronson has narrowed things down to a top five. For now, it’s another school in Florida that is in the lead for his signature on a faxed letter of intent come early February.
“USF is leading, but the rest are equal,” Bronson said. The rest of his top five include Arkansas, Tennessee, Mississippi State and South Carolina.
The 6’3” Fort Meyers target has been invited to the Army All-American game, it is on that stage where he plans to announce his college commitment. Between then and now, Bronson has his mind set on two goals the Florida coaches told him to think about while he was at FNL.
“’Focus on your football season and your school work’,” Bronson said.
