Kadji, Florida agree to parting of ways

Kenny Kadji has been granted his release from the Florida men’s basketball program, coach Billy Donovan announced Friday.

“After re-evaluating his situation, Kenny and I had the opportunity to sit down and talk about his future,” said Donovan.  “Kenny has made a decision that it’s in his best interest to start new somewhere else. He’s still recovering from back surgery and working hard to get himself healthy. I wish him the best in his future.”

Kadji, who would have been a redshirt sophomore, was granted a medical redshirt after averaging 1.0 points and 0.8 rebounds per game in eight games last season before having back surgery.

In two seasons, Kadji appeared in 42 games, averaging 3.7 points and 2.3 rebounds per game.

“While I’m sad that my time here at Florida is ending, it will always be special to me,” Kadji said. “I have goals that I hope to reach and only a short window of my life to make those things happen.”
