University of Florida freshman quarterback Treon Harris’ accuser has withdrawn her sexual battery complaint on Friday, according to Harris’ attorney Huntley Johnson.
“The young lady who claimed Treon Harris sexually battered her has withdrawn her complaint,” Johnson told Gator Country. “I am pleased for Treon Harris and his family.”
The 19-yeard old freshman from Miami, Florida was immediately suspended from all team activities and placed on interim suspension by the University of Florida on Monday following the initial allegations.
The police report that was released — and heavily reacted — showed that the alleged crime had taken place in the early hours of Sunday morning but not reported to UFPD until 12:49 a.m. on Monday.
With the withdrawn complaint, there will be no legal action against Harris and he will now have to wait for a ruling from the university to make a decision about Harris’ current interim suspended status.
Stay tuned as Gator Country will have more regarding this news story throughout the day and weekend.
I feel for this young man, he had the world by the tail and blew it with a bad decision. I know the sexual urge is the most difficult thing in the world to contain and he probably did not do what he was accused of doing. This should be a very powerful example to other young men in this type of situation. When you are in the public eye as he is you must be able to contain that urge!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
