Every Monday Gator Country presents the Prep Rewind with scores and stats that from the weekend’s high school games that involved Florida commitments and targets.

Also starting this week Gator Country is going to name a player of the week from the previous week’s action.

Week five player of the week: J.C. Jackson

Others who stood out:

Philadelphia (Pa.) Martin Luther King offensive lineman Dontae Angus

Result: MLK notched its second win of the year, defeating Dobbins, 46-7.

Stats: N/A

Casper (WY.) Natrona County defensive end Taven Bryan

Result: Natrona County lost for only the second time this season, falling to Campbell County, 24-23.

Stats: N/A

Hollywood (Fla.) Chaminade Madonna defensive tackle Khairi Clark

Result: American Heritage gave Chaminade its third straight loss, 20-0.

Stats: Clark had 4 tackles in the loss.

Miami (Fla.) Central running back Dalvin Cook

Result: Central defeated Don Bosco Prep 50-21 in game played in New Jersey.

Stats: Cook had 10 carries for 155 yards and three touchdowns and also added an interception.

Cross City (Fla.) Dixie County cornerback Duke Dawson

Result: Dixie County came from behind to beat Williston 38-32 to stay undefeated on the year.

Stats: Dawson had a 60-yard touchdown run from the Wildcat position that tied the game.

Jacksonville (Fla.) Raines offensive lineman Travaris Dorsey

Result: Raines defeated Bolles 45-31 in a turnover filled game.

Davidson (N.C.) Day quarterback Will Grier

Result: Davidson Day defeated Community School of Davidson 45-0 to improve to 5-0 on the year.

Stats: Grier threw for 360 yards and 6 touchdowns and also added 52 yards rushing in just one half of play.

Immokalee (Fla.) High cornerback J.C. Jackson

Result: Immokalee defeated Barron Collier, 26-3, to run its record to 2-2 on the year.

Stats: Jackson intercepted two passes and added touchdowns on both the sides of the ball.

Mount Pleasant (S.C.) Wando offensive lineman Nolan Kelleher

Result: Wando lost to Summerville, 36-10.

Plantation (Fla.) High cornerback Chris Lammons

Result: Plantation picked up its third win of the game by defeating Nova, 40-0.

Stats: Lammons had two touchdown runs and also added 170 yards rushing from the quarterback positon.

Homestead (Fla.) High receiver Ermon Lane

Result: Homestead fell to Norland, 19-17.

Stats: Lane had a 90-yard kickoff return for a touchdown on the opening kickoff of the game.

Tuscaloosa (Al.) Kingwood Christian tight end C’yontai Lewis

Result: Kingwood Christian defeated East Memorial Christian Academy, 38-9.

Stats: Lewis had a touchdown catch in the big win for Kingwood Christian.

Clearwater (Fla.) Central Catholic defensive end Justus Reed

Result: Central Catholic defeated Shorecrest Prep, 49-0.

Stats: Reed had four tackles and a sack in the win.

Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) University cornerback Quincy Wilson

Result: University School beat Somerset Academy 57-0 and is undefeated on the year.

Stats: Wilson blocked a punt in the win.

Andrew always knew he wanted to be involved with sports in some capacity. He began by coaching high school football for six years before deciding to pursue a career in journalism. While coaching, he was a part of two state semifinal teams in the state of Alabama. Given his past coaching experience, he figured covering recruiting would be a perfect fit.
