Opening Preview: Team Fly Rush

Nike has been rolling its camps around the country since early March and it will all come to an end in Beaverton, Oregon on July 7th at the Nike Headquarters.

The elite-of-the-elite prospects from the Class of 2015 and a handful of 2016 prospects will participate in the Sparq Challenge as well as be divided into teams to participate in the 7-on-7 challenge as well as the linemen challenge.

Among the prospects attending the events are a number of Florida targets as well as three Gator commits.

In the days leading forward Gator Country will break down each team and give you a preview of who to watch on that team as we prepare for the Opening.

Each team will draft three quarterbacks once they are in Oregon to go along with the players already designated to their team.

After looking at Team Alpha Pro and Team Apocalypse we turn our attention to team Fly Rush

While Fly Rush doesn’t have a Florida commit on its team it still has a number of Florida targets playing for them.

We start at the running back position where Miami running back commit Dexter Williams will play and while he’s committed to the Canes the Gators look very good for flipping him to Florida.

Former Jacksonville prospect Van Jefferson who now lives in Tennessee will play receiver for Team Fly Rush and while Jefferson has visited the Gators this summer it looks like Florida is trailing others.

One of the Gators top targets at linebacker is Roquan Smith and he’s on this team. While in Oregon he will be able to showcase his athletic ability in the 7-on-7 tournament.

FSU cornerback commit Tyrek Cole is on team Fly Rush and while he’s been committed to FSU for months now he still plans to take an official to Florida.

One of the Gators top targets on the board is defensive lineman Byron Cowart and he will be on team Fly Rush with the first ever Canadian born player in Neville Gallimore who will also play defensive line.

One interesting note for Team Fly Rush is that freshman quarterback Treon Harris’ brother Tim Harris Jr. will be an assistant coach for the team.
