Jayvaughn Myers Getting Cozy with the Gators

“Become a Gator.”

That’s the simple message Florida Gators football coaches are giving 2016 cornerback Jayvaughn Myers (6’1”, 175 lbs., Pasco High School).

The Gators recruit is still a little surprised that Florida came “all the way down to little old Dade City”, but he’s certainly feeling the love now from Jim McElwain and staff.

The offer was a dream come true for Myers who says that Florida football was always his childhood team.

Now that other schools are taking interest as well though, Myers says he’s happy to look into each school and find out what every program has to offer in order to find his best fit.

Where that fit will be remains to be seen. Despite recruiting rumors that Myers is leaning heavily towards FSU, he tells GatorCountry that no one school is in the lead.

Something that could possibly make a difference is where his brother, wide receiver recruit Nate Craig-Myers, will eventually land. While the two aren’t making definite plans on signing with the same team, they say they have discussed the possibility.

Regardless though, after three visits with the Florida Gators, Myers says he’s personally gotten very comfortable with the team, coaches, facilities, campus and the different facets of the program in Gainesville.

If he’ll be apart of that program in Gainesville next season remains to be seen, but while schools are continuing to court this young cornerback, he’ll be getting the same simple message from the coaches at Florida; “Come be a Gator.”
