Hopper recruiting others to join him with the Florida Gators

Not only were there several of the Florida Gators big targets on campus on Saturday but the staff also hosted several of the 2019 commits on campus.

Linebacker commit Tyron Hopper (6-2, 205, Roswell, GA. High) was one of those commits on campus this past weekend and it was his first trip on campus since he committed.

“I loved it, it was great to get back,” Hopper said of his visit to Florida on Saturday. “It was great to talk to the coaches and see my future family. I love it, it feels great, and everything feels real to me.”

Saturday’s visit was more about getting to know the coaches better and Hopper walked away accomplishing that goal.

“I feel like I got a better knowledge of them today,” he said on if he got to know the coaches better with Saturday’s visit. “They’re just so welcoming and that’s what I like about them.”

Hopper enjoyed the event and getting to eat and play the games set up for the prospects and he also got to mingle with other recruits.

“Just really getting to have fun and be with other recruits,” Hopper said of the highlight of the trip. “Getting to see my family and see the future with guys that might be coming here and getting to recruit other players that might want to come here.”

The Gators linebacker commit has a message for any recruit who wants to join Hopper at Florida.

“I say at the end of the day it’s Florida,” he said on his recruiting pitch to the other guys. “It’s going to be Florida with us or without us. It’s a great school and we have a great coach that’s new. We can become the first class, so why wouldn’t you want to be the first class to make the change.”

Another big reason that Hopper committed to Florida was because of his relationship with linebackers coach Christian Robinson.

“Me and Christian Robinson talk all the time,” Hopper said of his relationship with Christian Robinson. “We talk a lot and we have a real strong relationship and a real relationship. I really love it.”

Now that Hopper is committed he’s already planning more trips to Gainesville and he doesn’t plan to see any other schools right now.

“I’ll be back in June, I’m going to make sure to come back a couple of times in the summer,” he said on when he plans to return to Florida. “As of right now I’m 100 percent Florida so no other visits coming up.”

INSIDERS TAKE: Hopper said as of right now he doesn’t plan on taking any other visits as he’s locked in with Florida. Hopper did say that a few other schools are still recruiting him despite his commitment.
