Florida Gators recruiting visitors list for UMass game

It’s finally time to kickoff the football season which means the south endzone of Steve Spurrier field will have plenty of targets and commits of the Florida Gators recruiting class in it.

The Gators staff will now host prospects from all classes on unofficial visits for games as well as some official visits for 2017 prospects.

This weekend’s game against UMass doesn’t expect to have a huge visitors list but there are several big name prospects expected to be in the Swamp.

Here’s who is expected to be on the Florida Gators visitors list on Saturday night:

Commits coming to town

Florida is expected to have at least five of its commits in town for Saturday’s season opener. For most games the Gators will have more than four in attendance but still a good number to have for the UMass game.

Quarterback Jake Allen had planned on skipping this weekend’s game but he now says he will be in attendance. Allen is the leader of the Gators class of 2017.

Defensive tackle Jordon Scott has been one of the Gators most vocal prospects on Twitter and he’s expected to visit for the third in two months on Saturday.

Linebacker Ventrell Miller is also expected to be in town for the first time since he committed this summer.

The Gators will also have their pair of 2019 commits in town when safety Jaleel McRae and defensive tackle Jaquaze Sorrells visits Gainesville. Both prospects are very solid to Florida right now.

2018 targets coming to town

The Gators coaching staff has done a great job of getting on 2018 prospects early and that shows this weekend. Several big name instate prospects are scheduled to visit Florida for unofficial visits on Saturday.

One of the top linebackers for next year is 2018 linebacker Kenny Bastida (6-2, 230, Deerfield Beach, FL. High) and he plans to be in Gainesville for the first time this year on Saturday.

2018 running backs Lorenzo Lingard (6-1,185, Orange City, FL. University) is considered one of the top running backs and he will see Florida in its season opener. Lingard likes Florida, Florida State and Miami a lot early on.

2018 receiver Warren Thompson (6-4, 185, Seffner, FL. Armwood) has been a top target at receiver for receivers coach Kerry Dixon for over a year now and he will be in town. Thompson likes Florida and Miami a lot early on.

2019 and 2020 prospects to visit

Florida has already landed two 2019 commits but they’re in good shape for several prospects in that class and they’re also recruiting several 2020 players. This weekend a handful of prospects for both of those classes will be in town.

2019 receiver Maurice Goolsby (6-5, 195, Dunnellon, FL. High) is one of the most sought after prospects for his class and the Gators appear to be in good shape or him.

2019 safety Brendan Gant (6-0, 168, Lakeland, FL. Kathleen) is teammates with Gators commit Ventrell Miller and two are scheduled to both in the Swamp on Saturday. Gant earned his offer over the summer from Florida.

2020 quarterback Harrison Bailey (6-3, 190, Marietta, GA. High) has emerged as one of the top signal callers for his class and he will make his first visit to Gainesville on Saturday.

2020 defensive back Dawson Ellington (5-11, 175, Atlanta, GA. Woodward Academy) doesn’t have an offer from Florida yet but he will be in Gainesville on Saturday.
