Florida Gators prospects react to Muschamp’s firing

Less than 24 hours after the Florida Gators crushing defeat at home to South Carolina, Will Muschamp has been let go as coach of the Florida Gators.

This news didn’t come as a shock to most but prospects were still stunned by the news on Sunday morning as these are people who talked to Muschamp daily and had a personal relationship with him.

Gator Country spoke to dozens of prospects and Florida Gators commits to get their reaction on the news.

 

2015 commits

Florida offensive line commit Brandon Sandifer-“It is what it is, Coach Muschamp is a great guy and I wish him the best of luck. I’m still committed to Florida though.

Florida offensive line commit Tyler Jordan-“Coach Muschamp is a great coach and a great man. I have the utmost respect for him. I’m still committed to Florida.”

Florida offensive line commit George Brown-“Don’t worry Florida fans I’m still a Gator. I’m committed fully to Florida.”

Florida tight end commit Kalif Jackson-“I am still committed to the University of Florida.”

 

2015 targets

Miami running back Jordan Scarlett-“I’m just waiting to see who will be the next coach at Florida.”

Defensive end target CeCe Jefferson-“It’s a business.”

Receiver target Ryan Davis-“I’m stunned.”

Arkansas receiver commit K.J. Hill-“I felt it coming but that still doesn’t take away my interest from Florida.”

Tight end target Daniel Imatorbhebhe-“He’s a great guy and great coach, I’m sad to see him go.”

Georgia receiver commit Van Jefferson-“That’s crazy I really wanted to come down there cause of him. He’s a great coach and one I would love to play for. Now I just have to see what the new head coach is going to do about me and if they’re still interested.”

Tight end target Devonaire Clarington-“Man I don’t even know right now.”

Offensive linemen target Emmanuel McGirt-“I was just talking to him on Friday before my game. I’m really sad how they did him and it’ll affect a lot of people’s recruitment. He was real cool, I hope the best for him.”

Defensive end Houshon Gaines-“I hate to see him go. He was a great guy.”

Texas receiver commit John Burt-“Not surprising.”

Safety Hunter Dale-“I like him as a coach I think he is a great coach but I still love Florida.”

Ohio State cornerback commit Carlton Davis-“It’s crazy.”

Cornerback target Jeremy McDuffie- “Yeah it’s crazy I mean he was a defensive coach and they had a great defense I guess head coach just wasn’t the right position for him.”

Athlete target Javarius Davis-“Crazy.”

Miami offensive line commit Tyree St. Louis-“He was a great person and coach who put into a bad position. Sad to see him go and I’m positive Florida will get win six and win a bowl game this year.”
