Corbin “loved” his Florida Gators visit on Friday

On Friday the Florida Gators hosted two of the top running backs in the country on campus for visits and to watch practice.

Running back Jashaun Corbin (6-0, 191, Melbourne, FL. Holy Trinity Episcopal) was one of them and he really enjoyed his visit to Gainesville.

“I loved the visit,” Corbin said of his Florida visit. “I toured all the facilities and went to all of the academic buildings. I sat down with all of the coaches and went to the offensive meetings before I went to practice.”

This was the first time on campus for Corbin since he picked up his Gators offer and he described why he loved the visit.

“The best part was sitting down and talking to Coach Mac and Coach [JaJuan] Seider,” he said. “I liked the way the coaches made me feel wanted and a part of the family there. It was great.”

Corbin has been talking with Seider for a few weeks now but Friday was the first time for him to meet the running backs coach.

“It was great talking with Coach Seider,” Corbin said. “We were talking about his background and how he coaches his players. He said he treats them like it his own family.”

While on campus Corbin was told by Seider how the Gators plan on using him if he chooses Florida.

“He was telling me how he could use me in the offense,” he said. “He was saying that I would be a match-up problem for the defense and saying that I would just be able to make plays.”

Head coach Jim McElwain also spoke with Corbin and talked about several different things with him.

“He was just talking to me about him as a person,” Corbin said of his talk with McElwain. “He was saying how he wants me to be a part of the Gator family. He really loves my film and me as a person. He talked to me about visiting more and about education at Florida. We saw and toured the academic center to see what they had to offer.”

Heading into the visit Corbin liked Florida a lot but Friday helped the Gators chances according to the back.

“It helped them out,” he said on if Florida helped their chances. “It gave me a chance to see what Florida has to offer and I was excited to go up there and I had fun.”

Despite loving the visit to Florida, Corbin says he doesn’t have anyone standing out but he does know when he wants to make a decision.

“I don’t have any leaders,” Corbin said. “I’m planning visits to schools out of state and announcing on signing day.”

INSIDERS TAKE: Corbin really likes Florida and JaJuan Seider and the Gators will be in the mix until the end. The biggest question is whether or not Corbin will wait until signing day to make a decision.
