PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. – The Florida women’s tennis doubles team of freshman Sofie Oyen and sophomore Allie Will won two matches and advanced to the semifinals of the consolation draw at the 2010 Riviera/ITA Women’s All American Championships Friday at the Riviera Country Club.
The Gators began the day with an 8-4 victory over Sacramento State’s 43rd-ranked Tatsiana Kapshai and Rebeca Delgado. Will and Oyen then scored an 8-3 victory over Akron’s Zara Harutyunyan and Angelina Jogasuria.
Oyen and Will play their semifinal match Saturday, with the final scheduled for Sunday morning.
Florida’s other doubles team of sophomore Lauren Embree and junior Joanna Mather dropped a 9-7 decision to Duke’s Mary Clayton and Monica Gorny to end its tournament run.
