The Gators (12-1, 5-0 Southeastern Conference) have played arguably the nation’s toughest this schedule this season, as they are the only squad in the country to face nine ranked opponents in their first 12 matches. Florida has posted an impressive 8-1 record against ranked foes in 2010.
Nebraska is No. 2 in the latest RPI, while Illinois is No. 3, Northern Iowa is No. 4 and Penn State is No. 5. The Gators have faced six teams in the top-16 of the latest RPI this season, having squared off with the second-ranked Huskers, the fifth-ranked Nittany Lions, No. 7 Iowa State, No. 9 Tennessee, No. 14 Florida State and No. 16 LSU.
The next NCAA Women’s Volleyball RPI report will be released Oct. 12.
Florida also remains at No. 2 this week in the latest American Volleyball Coaches Association Top 25 Poll. Stanford remains in first place followed by Florida, Nebraska, Penn State and Hawaii.
