Gator Country TV and Cox Media announced plans today to air a weekly show on ESPN2 in the Ocala/Gainesville market.
The GCTV Show will go weekly Aug. 29 and be seen at 8:30 a.m. on ESPN2 as well as the regular time slots on Cox Channel 15 locally. The show is also posted on the GatorCountry.com website.
Russ Harper, vice-president of advertising sales in Central Florida for Cox Media, said aside from the ESPN2 showing, the program will be seen primarily on Thursday and Fridays, but will be aired multiple times during the night and day. Harper said the viewing times will be posted soon.
Executive Producer Brenden Martin said more exposure for the popular show would be possible through the new arrangement with Cox, since the local ESPN2 market reaches 92,000 households. The commercial sponsorship by Huntington Learning Center and Titletown Textbooks will provide better funding for upgraded programming on the Gatorcountry.com website.
“This is one more step toward giving our customers more and better programming,” said Martin. “It will also enhance our ability to upgrade our weeknight shows on our site, maybe broaden our recruiting coverage and allow us to bring some new ideas into play for our GatorCountry.com customers.”
