The Gators’ basketball game at Ole Miss that was scheduled for Wednesday at 5 has been postponed due to COVID-19 issues within the UF program, the SEC office has announced.

A make-up date has not been determined as of yet.

This is the Gators’ first game to be impacted by the virus this season.

Guard Myreon Jones missed the team’s final game prior to Christmas break against Stony Brook due to “health and safety protocols.” The team then was given Thursday through Saturday off to celebrate the holiday before reconvening as a team on Sunday.

Per the SEC’s recently updated guidelines for COVID-19, “If a contest is postponed, efforts will be made to reschedule the game. If a contest cannot be rescheduled, the Commissioner shall cancel the contest and it will be recorded as a no contest.”

Florida’s next scheduled game is on Jan. 5 at home against Alabama.
