CJ Ingram commits to the Florida Gators basketball team

The Florida Gators basketball team picked up a big commitment on Monday from a legacy target who has quickly risen in the recruiting rankings.

Small forward CJ Ingram (6-6, 195, Orlando, FL. Oak Ridge) committed to Florida over several other schools on Monday.

ā€œA lot of people say I’m just continuing a legacy so with that being said I will begin my own legacy but you know where only where Gators get out alive, in the Swamp,ā€ Ingram said in his commitment video on Monday. ā€œ

Ingram is the son of former Gators tight end Cornelius Ingram who starred at Florida and won two national championships.

The younger Ingram who is a two-sport star has decided to pursue just basketball despite having several football offers including one from Florida.

Last season Ingram won the Florida Dairy Farmers Class 1A player of the year award as a quarterback and on the hardwood he averaged 24 points, 8 assists, and 3 rebounds.

Ingram who decided to just focus on basketball this spring has picked up several big offers as of late and has also rose all the way up to a four-star in recruiting rankings after a strong showing this spring and summer at camps.
