WR Nalin Scott likes Billy Gonzales’ coaching history

The Florida Gators coaching staff continues to build the recruiting board as they host prospects on campus for spring ball.

Receiver Nalin Scott (6-1, 200, Powder Springs, GA. McEachern) is one of those prospects that the Gators continue to evaluate, and he talks with the coaching staff often.

“I talk to them a little bit,” Scott said of his talks with Florida. “Usually I talk to Coach [Billy] Gonzales but not as much right now but the communication is still there.”

Receivers coach Billy Gonzales has been talking with Scott about spring football and also making sure to check in with Scott.

“He’s just been asking how I’ve been doing and how my process is going,” he said on his talks with Gonzales. “He’s just making sure that I’m working and just keeping me up to date with everything that’s been going on with spring ball.”

When Gonzales visited Scott at his school in January, the assistant coach explained to Scott where he would play at if he came to Florida.

“He came down to my school earlier,” Scott said of Gonzales. “When he came down, he talked to me about wanting me and playing like mostly as an outside receiver for him.”

Scott has researched Gonzales’ coaching history, and he’s impressed with the number of NFL players who have played for Gonzales.

“I think that’s real big,” he said of Gonzales’ coaching history. “Just knowing that like he’s produced a lot in the past and just knowing that he’s producing and has had receivers come out shows that he can really teach them and get them to work.”

Heading into the spring, Scott says a few schools are recruiting him harder than others as he plans to visit several schools.

“I would say mostly like Michigan, Arizona State, Missouri, and Nebraska,” Scott said of schools recruiting him hard. “This coming up Tuesday, I think I’m going to be at Georgia Tec,h and then I’m hoping to be at Florida in April.”
