The Florida Gators picked up their 19th commitment of the Class of 2026 on Monday night from a big out-of-state target.
Receiver Davian Groce (6-1, 190, Frisco, TX., Lone Star) committed to Florida over Oklahoma and Baylor on Monday.
Groce took an official visit to Gainesville back in June, and it was during that visit that the Gators really caught his attention.
“That was the biggest thing for me, just the team and the morale,” Groce said of his visit to Florida. “It was real positive, this is the best team morale that I’ve been around and seen.”
That visit was the first time for Groce to see Gainesville and Florida, and he walked away surprised by the team environment.
“Definitely, it surprised me a lot,” Groce said on if the visit surprised him at all. “I wasn’t expecting as much love as I got, I mean obviously Florida, you know they win a lot of games and do a lot of great things when it comes to the football field, but you know just getting the inside of it was very big. Especially how great the team was meshing; it was crazy to me. I’ve never seen something like that before in my life from all of the schools that I’ve been to. I’ve just never seen a team that’s so together.”
Groce is a big addition to the class as he can play all over the field, as he plays both running back and receiver in high school.
As a junior, Groce rushed for 687 yards on 58 carries and scored 7 touchdowns, and he added 702 yards receiving on just 43 catches and another 5 scores.
