Vernell Brown III commits to the Florida Gators over Miami

The Florida Gators picked up their 10th commitment of the 2025 Class on Sunday afternoon when they picked up a huge legacy commitment.

Receiver Vernell Brown III (5-11, 170, Orlando, FL. Jones) committed to Florida over Florida State, Miami and Ohio State on Sunday.

Brown whose father is Vernell Brown is a former star for the Gators liked how the presentation that receiver coach Billy Gonzales had for him during his official visit.

“He showed me a presentation of what his plan for me is, so that was big. People talk about it all the time, but it was good for him to actually show it. They have some big plans,” Brown III said.

The positive atmosphere around the program is something that also sold Brown during his visit.

“When you get a chance to be around different players you get to hear different experiences. You have the Tre Wilson’s, who generally have the perfect experience, and someone else who is still working their way up. I didn’t hear anything bad, all the players are enjoying it, which is a big selling point for coach Napier and his staff talking about the player experience,” Brown III said.

The Gators picking up a commitment from Brown was a big one as he’s a legacy target that Billy Napier needed.
