Stubbs says the Florida Gators are very high in his recruitment

On Saturday, several of the Florida Gators’ top underclassmen were on campus for the Grill in the Ville cookout event.

2025 safety Hylton Stubbs (6-1, 180, Jacksonville, FL. Mandarin) was on campus and got to see a different side of things from the Gators.

“It was all fun, I had a great time,” Stubbs said on his visit to Florida on Saturday. “We had a scavenger hunt, trivia games, ate great food, and got some awesome ice cream. It was awesome, it was a fun time at Florida.”

Stubbs is one of the Gators’ top targets in the 2025 class and he says he feels like a priority from the coaching staff.

“It’s always love at Florida,” he said on the coaching staff showing him love. “It felt the same because it’s always major love at Florida every time. They showed me everything isn’t always about football, and they keep telling me that I’m one of their top guys.”

Defensive coordinator Austin Armstrong has been one of the main contacts for Stubbs and the safety believes in the Gators’ new coordinator.

“He’s just a down-to-earth person and a great coach to me,” Stubbs said on his relationship with Austin Armstrong. “I feel like he will develop me, and I would do great things at Florida with Coach Armstrong being my defensive coordinator.”

After the visit to Gainesville on Saturday, Stubbs says the Gators are one of his top teams in his recruitment early on.

“I don’t really have a one, two, or three,” he said on where Florida stands for him. “Florida is very high. I’m definitely moving towards a decision, but I don’t have any set date, it may be next summer or even in the season.”

The Gators have some tough competition as Alabama, Florida State, and Georgia are also heavily involved with Stubbs but the safety says he likes several things about the Gators.

“Just the love they show me,” Stubbs said on what he likes about Florida. “Every time I come up here, I feel like a priority, I’m always talking to them outside of campus. I talk to Coach CJ like every other day.”
