The Florida Gators hosted several big-name targets on Friday for Friday Night Lights including one of the top receivers in the country.
Receiver Evan Stewart (6-0, 175, Frisco, TX. Liberty) was on campus on Friday for the second time this summer and the receiver says he’s starting to feel at home in Gainesville.
“It was good. It feels good to be back,” Stewart said of his visit to Florida on Friday. “It’s getting a little bit feeling like home. I’m enjoying myself right now.”
Quarterback commit Nick Evers is good friends with Stewart and helped get the receiver to join him in Gainesville for the visit this weekend.
“Well, this guy behind me, Nick [Evers], of course,” he said on visiting Florida for a second time this summer. “He was the first one. They were always the first one when somebody was talking about doing something. Him and his daddy and his parents, and I was, ‘All right. Let’s go.’”
The coaching staff has been consistent in their pursuit of Stewart and have explained that the receiver will play all over the field if he picks Florida.
“They just want to let me know that I’m wanted. I could be a great individual here and just do what I do,” Stewart said on the message from the coaching staff. “They say they’ll use me in the slot, and they’ll use me outside. Really not limited anywhere, just getting me the ball and creating plays.”
Next up for Stewart will be some visits this fall as the receiver is done with visits this summer as he prepares for his senior year.
“I’ll take two officials probably during the season,” he said on what’s next for him as far as visits. “Probably Alabama and LSU and I don’t know who the last one’s going to be.”
Stewart has never put a timeline on when he would commit to a school but the receiver says he’s hoping to get the process over with in the near future.
“Soon, hopefully,” Stewart said on when he may decide. “I’m ready for the recruiting process to be over. I’m just trying to wrap my head around everything.
